2nd Biospeleological expedition – Pelješac 2019
On Friday, April 19 the 2nd Biospeleological Expedition – Pelješac 2019 starts. 🙂 The organizers are CBSS and Breganja Association.
The main goals are a comprehensive survey of underground habitats and animals throughout the Pelješac peninsula and a speleological exploration of newly discovered caves.
During two field researches that preceded the main expedition, we concentrated on finding caves known only from the literature and those known only to the local people. We found 23 of them and for 21 topographic surveys are needed (2 surveys were made). We also chose caves with suitable habitats for cave fauna and made preliminary biospeleological research.
To see how was it, take a look at the photos.
