Seven new species of subterranean beetles
Six new species of subterranean beetles from the genus Thaumastocephalus are described from Croatia, and one more species from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Two species are described from Biokovo Mt. Here we highlight the species T. troglavi from the pit Sistem Velika-Velika. This pit was discovered and explored in 1985 by the Croatian Mountaineering Association “Biokovo”. During the 1st Biospeleological Expedition – Biokovo 2017 the pit was biospeleologically explored and specimens of this new species were collected.
