1st Dinaric Symposium on Subterranean Biology

From September 23rd to 24th in the facilities of Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb, the 1st Dinaric Symposium on Subterranean Biology was held which was organized by the Croatian biospeleological society and RBI. At the symposium, there were many as 60 participants from 9 countries. A lot of interesting scientific work was presented, new and old acquaintances were fortified, and new ideas and collaborations were established – all for what this symposium was intended for. After the oral presentations, on September 24th, an excursion was held near the city of Ogulin which ended with an overnight party and a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Croatian Biospeleological Society.

We would like to thank all participants of the symposium who contributed and supported this idea and with that gesture made us a step closer to understanding the rich biology of the Dinarides.
