The Cave cadastre of the Republic of Croatia published within Bioportal

The Cave cadastre of the Republic of Croatia was published on the web portal of the Information System for Nature Protection – Bioportal, managed by the Croatian Agency for Environment and Nature Protection. It is established with joint work of speleological associations in the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Agency for Environment and Nature Protection. The Cadastre unifies information on known caves in the Republic of Croatia. To date, Cadastre contains 761 caves, and further data entry is in progress.

All data within the Cadastre are fully accessible to speleological associations participating in its construction, institutions within the nature protection sector, and state and public institutions dealing with the protection and rescue of people and their property. Data available to the general public is limited.

The public interested in more detailed information about caves can contact speleological associations that have entered data into the Cadastre.
