Speleological research of the Pelješac peninsula
On the Pelješac peninsula, about 70 caves are known. Among them, 40 are known only from literature. The assumption is that there is a potential to find as many as 300 caves.
Between 13 and 21 November 2018 we were speleologically researching the area and visited 21 caves. Of these, 10 were recorded and explored for the first time. We also collected cave fauna as preliminary research for the Second Biospeleological Expedition – Pelješac 2019.
The project was co-financed by Croatian Waters.
